The Westchester County District Attorney’s Office seeks an attorney to serve as an Assistant District Attorney in the Appeals and Special Litigation Division. In this busy suburban office just north of New York City, prosecutors in the Appeals and Special Litigation Division prepare briefs in appeals from judgments of conviction and decisions adverse to the prosecution; participate in oral argument before state appellate courts; respond to post-conviction motions to vacate judgments of conviction and set aside sentences; and, answer writs of habeas corpus in the federal courts.

A candidate must have superior analytical, research, and writing skills. Prior experience as an appellate attorney or equivalent work experience is preferred. The candidate must be a graduate from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor degree and be admitted to the New York Bar (or have the ability to obtain admission promptly).
